The Mourning play a mixture of progressive rock/metal with a lot of jazz influences and if I were to liken them to any band, it would be latterday Opeth but that would do The Mourning an injustice. Johnny’s vocals are outstanding, hence why he is also a vocal coach and with all musicians raising their game, the new album certainly seems to be one to keep an eye out for if you are into this kind of music.
