There’s no hiding that I’m a huge fan of Ricky Warwick, his past bands and his current ones. With news of his latest solo release (When Life Was Hard & Fast was reviewed recently), I reached out for half an hour of his time and ended up having a hugely enjoyable chat to one of the most enthusiastic and genuine musicians out there.
Earlier this week we let Ricky Warwick take us through some of the tracks, and album art, on his latest release When Life Was Hard & Fast. In this second part of our interview, we go back in time and talk about Ricky’s musical beginnings up to the present day… as well as get an idea of what could be coming up next!
I made one small mistake in the video – I did indeed see The Almighty open for Megadeth (along with Alice in Chains) on March 29th 1991, but I didn’t see them in Glasgow the night before as they played Edinburgh on that tour. I was confusing that date with a similar run on the following tour only 18 months later when I saw Megadeth (with Pantera opening) on October 3rd and 4th at Glasgow Barrowlands and Newcastle City Hall.

Apologies for Ricky’s head vanishing at times! Skype doesn’t seem to be great at lining up the images when it renders the recording!
When Life Was Hard & Fast is out on February 19th
