It’s no secret that I think Mother of Graves onto something here. How can a debut EP from a band who, six months ago, were not known apart from their own inner circle be sold out in its first weekend?
Being signed to Sean Fraser at Wise Blood Records opened doors for them and that will surely lead them onto bigger and better things. Getting the legend that is Dan Swano to master your debut EP is one of them and what a masterful job he did too.
I recently reviewed In Somber Dreams and it is a sheer delight of death/doom metal in the vein of early Katatonia, My Dying Bride and Edge of Sanity and I urge each and every one of you to pick this up and listen to it time and time again. I rarely get this excited about a band but Mother of Graves are one to watch out for.
