Interview: Joe McGuigan of Gama Bomb

Who said you cannot have fun while playing thrash metal?

Gama Bomb have split personalities when it comes to their music. They want to play thrash metal without reinventing the wheel, but Gama Bomb like to have fun with their cheesy videos along with what can be seen as short films. Take a look at the title track of the new album Sea Savage for example, telling a story highly inspired by Moby Dick and the works of Edgar Allan Poe and you will see what I mean.

As the band are about to release their new album, I thought it was a good time to talk to bassist/vocalist Joe on how the songs have been constructed during lockdown, how the video was made, and on all things Gama Bomb and metal in general. Was a really nice chat with Joe and I wish him and the band the best of luck for the album release.

Sea Savage will be out on 4th Dec through Prosthetic Records
