HRH Metal 2019 Interview: The Five Hundred

Prior to their performance on stage 3 at HRH Metal, I had the opportunity to have a quick chat with The Five Hundred regarding their upcoming plans and their performance later that day.

You’re playing HRH Metal later on today, are you looking forward to it?

Very much so. It’s our first time playing here so we’re really looking forward to it. We’ve just nipped in to see the stage we’re playing on and it’s bigger than some of the ones we’ve recently played on. We’re looking forward to smashing it!

Are there any bands that you are looking forward to seeing?

We’re sticking around to watch Decapitated. We’re really looking forward to seeing them and their new album is really sick so we can’t wait to see them.

What are your plans for the next 6 to 12 months?

We’re writing some stuff regardless of what we’re doing next. We’re doing a show in Nottingham very soon which will be good. We know most of the people in each band playing that show which will be good. We’re doing Camden Rocks and a three day thing with a band from Denmark which is still to be announced and we’re hopefully doing a 2 week thing around September time as well. We just came back off tour with Shvpes which was really good. We’ve had a great start for the year.

If you had to pick next year’s headliner, who would you pick?

Maybe Decapitated again? We’d love to see them again maybe playing Winds of Creation from start to finish. Smashing Pumpkins would be pretty sick to see as well. We saw some bands got announced yesterday and Evil Scarecrow would be good.

Tea or coffee?

Split down the middle, tea and coffee for us.
