#RoadToBOA2018 – Ingested

As ever, we’re going to try and cover every single Jäger, New Blood and SOPHIE stage band before Bloodstock kicks off on August 9th. Your chance to check them out and start planning which bands to get there early for!

Trust us when we tell you that this is bound to result in some frustrating clashes because, as ever, there are some great bands on these three stages.

Our thanks to all the bands for taking the time out to answer our questions!

Ingested – Sophie Lancaster Stage, Friday

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

Manchester.

How long have you been playing together as a band?

Twelve years, with the original line up.

Where does the name of the band come from?

Basically we wanted a one word band name that hadn’t been used by any other death metal band. Nearly all of the good ones had been used already and we ended up finding Ingested, so it stuck.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

Quintessentially we are a death metal band but we incorporate various styles of all the available sub genres and don’t pigeon hole ourselves.

What’s your live show like? Why are people going to watch you instead of another band?

We are known for our ferocity, we are up there as being one of the heavier bands on the fest, so if people are fed up of power metal riffs they can come over and be bulldozed during our set.

Have you been to Bloodstock before? What did you think?

Never been before but we are excited to finally be part of it.

So how does it feel to be invited to play the one and only Bloodstock?

It’s a privilege, it’s a well respected festival and it’s not often brutal bands like ourselves get these types of opportunities.

What sort of setlist can we expect?

Without giving the game away too much, expect plenty of material off of our latest album “The Level Above Human” and a few fan favourites.

Which main stage band do you most hope you’re not squished up next to so you can see them play?

Cannibal Corpse, Emperor, Gojira and Judas Priest.

What are you working on at the moment?

We’ve just come back from an 11 week tour supporting our new album, we hit the UK, Mexico, Canada and the USA. We are hitting the road solidly until the end of the year.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done on tour?

Now now, what happens on tour stays on tour ;)

Jager, Hobgoblin Ale, Kraken, Kingstone Press Cider, Kaltenberg Beer or Bulleit Bourbon?

Bourbon! A couple of tinnies wouldn’t go a miss either.
