#RoadToMetalDays2018 – Membrance

Always aiming to put the smaller / less well known bands front and centre, welcome to our series featuring acts on the New Forces stage at this year’s Metal Days festival in Slovenia, as well as a couple of bands who are being featured for a second time having trodden the boards of that stage in earlier years. We’ll be there with them and hopefully will catch as many of them live as possible so we can tell you how good they are! Tickets for the five-day (plus warmup!) event are still available for around £135. It takes place in Tolmin, Slovenia, from July 21st to 28th.

What is your band’s name and where are you from?

My band is called Membrance, and we are from Venezia in Italy.

When did you first find out about Metal Days?

Last year I went with my friends to the festival.

How did you end up on the bill for this year’s festival?

We had a lucky copy of our demo in the car, and we gave it to the stand staff of New Forces.

Is this the furthest you’ll ever have played from home and/or the biggest gig you’ve ever played? If so, what was the furthest/biggest before now?

Of course! The most away from our home was near Milano but it was a little concert. The biggest was Padova Metal Fest, but is like a big metal “sagra” (a little festival).

Which bands on the bill are you most looking forward to seeing?

This year is a very good year to participate at Metal Days! We are excited for Judas Priest, Behemoth, Belphegor, Children of Bodom, Cannibal Corpse, Municipal Waste, Ensiferum, Alestorm, Watain, Master and Accept. A very imposing bill!

Other than bands, what are you most looking forward to about Metal Days?

We went last year. It has a magical ambience, like a paradise of metalheads! Walk in the woods, relax on the beach, swim in the river, metal market, metal food, music, friends, sex and alcohol. It was a trauma when it is finished!

Before you hit the stage: Monster energy drink or Laško beer?

Laško! Monster! And union! Energy is good but is better with alcohol!
