You came off stage about an hour ago. How was it for you guys?

It was amazing, man. It’s our first time here and it’s been great. Everything from the weather to the organisation and the fans has been great. Today’s lineup is great with a lot of thrash bands on the bill so I guess we’re playing on the right day and to the right people!

This is the first year the festival has sold out. What do you reckon has caused this?

It’s got to be the lineup, man. If you put on a shit lineup then people won’t come. So I’m guessing it’s the lineup and the fact that it’s great here. There’s nothing I’d want to change about it, aside from us spending more time here! We’re only here for three hours total which sucks so I’m trying to make the most of the time here.

Conformicide was the latest released album. How do you feel the response has been to it?

Superb. It’s my first album with the band so obviously I’m going to say that. But I personally think it’s the best material Havok has ever done and folk seem to be thinking that as well. When Dave first showed me the stuff I was blown away by it and being able to write my own bass-lines to it is great.

I personally think it’s the best stuff there is in terms of Havok. Compared to stuff I’ve done with other things it’s still some of the best stuff. I’m given a lot more freedom to do more bassey stuff than I am in other things and it’s great.

If you had to put the bill together for a festival, who would you pick?

Man…

Probably Meshuggah, some weird shit like Car Bomb, Ex-Mortis, Nuclear Power Trio, Slayer, Metallica, Lamb of God, Gojira… all of the metal! Smash it all together!
