Pre-Bloodstock interview: Hell PuppeTs

Hell Puppets - Theatre of SinDue to the huge number of bands playing at Bloodstock this year, and the fact that our two roving reporters will actually want to watch some of them, we’re doing a little round of pre-festival interviews this year. We’re focussing on the bands playing the Jagermeister and Hobgoblin New Blood Stages so they get a chance to convince you to go and watch them. Remember, these guys and gals are the future of our musical world!

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

How did you meet?

How long have you been playing together as a band?

How long was your last line?

Where does the name of the band come from?

The Theatre of Sin

What are your influences – individually or as a band?

1960’s heavy rock, 70’s punk & 90’s metal, we like to combine the powers of the fallen… Paul Kossoff, Sid Vicious, Randy Rhoads & Dimebag Darrell for me personally… (Belial)

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

We create a stench of death, beauty, clarity and sex; we are drugged up representatives of our Lord Lucifer!

What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?

Describing our show? A chaotic madness orchestrating a gothic episode of stingray performing a demonic séance upon the church and all of god’s fraudulent christianity!

When/how did you find out you’d been selected to play at Bloodstock?

On Sunday May 24th, Simon Hall called upon our souls. Ouija is a powerful thing you know?

What sort of setlist can we expect?

A fucking fury of punk anarchic horror metal!

Which main stage band do you most hope you’re not clashing with so you can see them play?

Rob Zombie

What are you working on at the moment?

Who are we currently working on you mean? No comment!

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done on tour?

Gave our drummer Viagra and made him buy pork chops from a butcher in the old East end of London.

What advice would you give to a young band just starting out today?

Nightmares can come true, keep dreaming…

If you could be part of any 3-band line-up (as support or headlining) who else would you have on the bill?

Misfits, Sex Pistols, White Zombie, Pantera

Hell PuppeTs are headlining the Jagermeister Stage on Sunday.
