Interview: Red Rum

More pirate-ness with Nottinghamshire’s favourite virtuoso baroque pirate metal sextet (although, in fairness, there probably aren’t that many virtuoso pirate metal sextets in the Midlands), Red Rum. I had the chance to speak to Sam the keyboardist and Sam the guitarist before their show at The Arches in Glasgow.

Find out what a bouzouki is, exactly how to arrange your band’s sound to please guy managing the mixing desk at a gig and what pirate beverage Alestorm secretly drink when they think nobody’s looking… Also, what’s the skinny on forthcoming material from Red Rum? It’s all in here along with some more waffle!

Apologies for the occasional rumbling sound on the recording – that’s the sound of underground trains pulling into Glasgow Central station! The interview was done in the dressing rooms underneath The Arches venue.
