Classic Covers: The Rocket Dolls & Aaron Buchanan – About a Girl

Every cover song is going to divide people. People will argue until the end of time which is the best version of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”, “Rockin’ All Over the World” or “The Man Who Sold the World”. That last one is pretty ironic given the recent “About a Girl” travesty. Don’t go find it.

Seriously. Don’t. It’s even worse than Metallica’s piss-poor rendition of “Whiskey in the Jar”.

Just as surely as Carole Baskin killed her husband, you know that when The Rocket Dolls and Aaron Buchanan join forces (neither of whom require introduction here as they’ve both featured on our pages numerous times) to right someone else’s wrongs, they’re going to kill it. And not in the bad way like Wes Scantlin.

Taking advantage of modern technology in a time of lockdown, they’ve rattled this out in no time at all, belying the quality in it. If you’re a fan of the MTV Unplugged version, this will more than satisfy.
