Classic Covers: Bad Wolves – Zombie

You’d be hard pushed to have missed the news earlier this week of the untimely death at 46 of The Cranberries’ singer Dolores O’Riordan. Prior to her passing she was collaborating with Bad Wolves on a cover of her band’s timeless anti-war classic “Zombie”.

Sadly, she never had a chance to lay down her vocals for this version. Instead, rather than what we’re sure would have been a great set of harmonies between herself and Bad Wolves vocalist Tommy Vext, Vext himself takes the lead on this powerful update.

The lyrics have been changed marginally, which has resulted in the expected flurry of small-minded complaints on the foul pit that is the YouTube comments section. However, the song is as powerful as ever and Bad Wolves have done a great job with it.

A portion of profits from the sale / streaming of this song will go to O’Riodan’s three daughters. You can snaffle it from various online stores.
