Classic Covers: Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons (feat. Dee Snider) – Born To Raise Hell

Motorhead - Born To Raise HellYeah, OK, so Dee Snider features for two days on the trot. The guy’s a legend – deal with it.

I knew this event took place at Bloodstock, but annoyingly we got there too late on the Thursday to catch it due to traffic problems. Partway through the newly re-christened Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons’ set, Dee Snider took to the stage and the band cranked out an impressive version of “Born to Raise Hell”. In the past, the song featured in the movie Airheads (as did a certain Lemmy) along with guest vocals from Ice-T and Whitfield Crane.

The video footage isn’t bad, but the sound is great for a mobile phone effort. Snider nails it and Phil’s guitars never sounded dirtier.

Note that I had problems playing the video direct from YouTube – it kept crashing after 20 seconds or so. If there’s enough demand due to other people having issues, I’ll re-upload it (with credit to the original source obviously) to our own channel. Here’s hoping it was just a blip, though.
