[avatar user=”Mosh” size=”50″ align=”left” /]It was actually Machine Head’s own facebook feed that pointed me towards these guys, as they also cover that band’s song “Halo”. However, it’s only available to embed via BandCamp and that doesn’t always work. They do, however, have a YouTube video for “Symphony of Destruction” so I’ve picked that one to feature.
Pastors of Muppets are a friend 12-piece brass band who do metal covers. Which is awesome. A quick glance at the tracks I can find show that they’ve done Megadeth, Pantera, Machine Head, Gn’R, AC/DC, Metallica, SoaD… Their first, self-titled, album came out in 2012 and it looks like they’re releasing a second soon, or at least dripping tracks out via BandCamp at a Euro a time the second has just been released. Entitled Headbrassbangers !!, you can download it a track at a time or as an entire album from BandCamp.
Judging from the live pics I can find for them, they also have a great stage act. Band members pick well-recognised figures from the metal world to dress as and ham it up, keeping the fun factor will in place while belting out brassy versions of classic rock and metal anthems.
