Way off the beaten track with this one! As I’ve said before, to record a really good cover you have to take the original and make it your own. There’s a separate place for cover bands whose job it is to mimic the original artist, but if you’re a performer in your own right, then you need to stamp your mark no the source material.
You tell me that Postmodern Jukebox haven’t done this with Guns N’ Roses‘ classic “Sweet Child o’ Mine“.
