Crusaders have just dropped a new single, and have plans for more coming up. Definitely ones to keep an eye out for, and they’re here to tell you a lot more about themselves…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are from Glasgow, Scotland.
How did you meet?
We have all known each other through gigging in the Scottish metal scene and were friends before we joined the band. Steve and Jamie have known each other for around 16 years!
How long have you been playing as a band?
We have been playing together for around 12 months.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
We are on a crusade to bring back classic thrash metal!
What are your influences?
Collectively we are big fans of Exodus, Evile, Metallica, Pantera, Havok to name just a few.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our live show is wild, relentless and energetic. We have a lot of fun playing together and we want to share that with the people who come to our shows!
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
We have a lyrical style that focuses on pop culture, films, stories and even video games. We write about anything that interests us and we can fit with some tasty riffs!
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our show is wild and energetic! Lots of movement, high energy when we are doing a show we try to cram in as much music as we can in our allocated time. We have played around 15 shows together and are working continuously on our live show.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
We played a show where someone stage dived and unfortunately no one caught him and, unfortunately, he landed on his head and hurt himself! I still remember the noise it made! Fortunately he was ok in the end!

What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Up at our studio we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to guitars! We have quite a collection. The guitarists will usually use Gibson, ESP, BC Rich and Jacksons. Our bass player, Steve, builds his own basses which you can check out searching for Eidolon Guitars.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
We have our first single and music video, “V”, out on the 27th of September which we are really excited to share with everyone! It will be available across all streaming and video platforms.
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
We have a list of songs we are planning to record and release over the next few months or so and continuing sharpening our live show. We have 5 or 6 shows lined up over the next 6 months with more in the pipeline to be confirmed.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
I would have Dundee band Catalysis open for us as we are big fans and always have fun when we play with them and they are all round good guys! Crusaders would love to play with Evile as our headline band! They are a UK based band from Huddersfield, fast and thrashy they have some of my favourite riffs!
