Kicking off the week with an instrumental blast, The Last Sound Revelation (unusually for them) throw words at us! Thank you to them and the folks over at Rock On Agency for helping to support Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation with this feature.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Hi everybody, we are an instrumental band from Rome, Italy.
How did you meet?
Niccolò and Francesco have played together since 20 years ago, Tiziano met Francesco in 2013 at work (they were employed in the same company), Valerio reached the band two years ago, when the previous guitarist left our project.
How long have you been playing as a band?
We started as a power trio in February 2013, we grew up to four elements three years after and even changing four second guitarist, we never stopped except a couple of months due to Covid restrictions. Now we found the final guitarist Valerio, we are proud of him.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
The hardest thing, which seems strange to say, was the research and approval of the band name, which took us about a month between meetings, messages and phone calls.
Here we talk about sound as a revelator tool of feelings and emotions and as an alternative language to images or text.
Tied to this overall vision is then the music, which, starting from an ideation free of any scheme, binds viscerally to the sensations and emotions of the moment and then harnesses and evokes them in the form of images or flashbacks of a dream world in which they intermingle, creating, precisely, the revelation of the last sound.
As for the logo, thanks to our dear friend Alessandra Lupi, who was working as a graphic designer at the time, it took the shape it has today.
We asked her to work on it by listening to our songs, and she came to the conclusion to create a logo that could bring together the tactile sensation with the music, thus creating such a unique logo.
Our logo exaggerates the stylization of the band’s name in favour of a symbology with an archaic and universal flavour as the letters T, L, and R become almost like hieroglyphics, ┌,└ e ┌ where the S, in its braille form, emphasises the evocative power of music).

What are your influences?
Surely we can say our main influences range from Tool to Iron Maiden, going through Opeth, Dream Theater, Guns and Roses, Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our project aims to stimulate in the listener an emotional experience that recalls images and inner states of mind trying to conquer even those who do not usually follow this genre and at the same time, to offer a product that is as original and different as possible. Our music wants to be just a vehicle the listeners can use to reach the land they prefer on the route they want. Since we compose and play without any scheme, we don’t want to force the listeners to go where we want. As per feedback we received from our fans and followers, what makes us unique is our alchemy and power of sound which strongly comes out during our live shows. Stage is our comfort environment and interactions with the audience is our life-blood.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
No, as already mentioned, we are an instrumental band and our language is music understood as an expression of life and emotions.
Therefore, through our pieces, we try to provide our listeners with a complete musical experience in which they can experience, by closing their eyes and listening very carefully, the magic of the “revelation of the last sound” and feel the same emotions that we experience in creating, playing and listening to our music.
We can talk about “lyrical themes” in terms of structural composition and guitar phrases. Surely we have “recurrent” break through and solos which are our voices.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
We performed a huge number of Live shows around Italy, some of the most known stages in Rome such as Stazione Birra, Traffic Club, Wishlist. Also we participated in many contests such as Tour Music Fest, Radio Rock and Arezzo Wave.
Our live show is an emotional and powerful experience, we play with and for the audience, as mentioned before, interaction is a key for us. We also use Video content on three led screens. We put love and joy in playing live and we bring them to whoever is listening to us in the same way if it would be one or ten thousand.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Recently, during the set change, while the drummer was busy setting up the drums, the guitarists in the band started improvising to the notes of “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica that passed in the background, even receiving applause from the audience.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Usually we play in analog for both studio and liveshow but for the new production we’re experimenting with some new landscapes in digital by using Fractal units. We love PRS and VGS guitars.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
We have T-shirts and Art Stamp, pins and other gadgets. Of course we are continuing to promote our first EP Hidden Voices.
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
We have the new single “Delirium” ready to be published and we will start the shooting of the related video clip within the end of June 2023.
Meanwhile we are ultimating to compose our next album which will contain 8 tracks.
Also we should perform a Baltic tour next Autumn. Lots of things in the pot, so… stay tuned folks.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
Talking about long-life dreams, no doubt at all, would be supporting Opeth, Iron Maiden, Russian Circles, last but not least Tool of course.
To open to us we would say “Lai delle Nubi” and “Il Giardino degli Specchi”, which are two post-rock bands with a High level project, very powerful sound and already shared the stage with us.
We would like to mention some incredible italian mate’s band: Time Haven Club, Hot Alien Sauce, New Disorder and Nexus Opera. Different kinds of projects, all very high level which we have a very special friendship with.
