Welcome another Headline Act to the fold, and one where we don’t think we’ve agreed with the final question more! Read on to find out what impressed us…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Hi Skinny Pete (guitar) here; We hail from Berkshire/Wiltshire in the southeast of England
How did you meet?
Our singer Lance and bass player T-Bone have been friends since childhood. The rest of us met through the local music scene which eventually led to playing together in other bands.
How long have you been playing as a band?
We formed in 2019 as a culmination of the best parts of previous projects.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
The name was actually a suggestion from a close friend. It’s title of an old punk song that he loves.
What are your influences?
Each member brings different influences to the band, but I’d say some the main ones that come through would be The Wildhearts, Green Day, Backyard Babies and Weezer
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I’d describe our music as pop rock punk. I think our music is unique in the fact we all bring in these very different influences, yet we tie them together with our own thread. Giving us the perfect vehicle to drive and deliver our lyrics/story telling in an upbeat style… the sound of genuine friends making a sound we love!
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
We address issues from mental health, friends, lovers lost, found, acceptance and resolve. We hope that people can take away from us is that things always get better in time. You have to keep fighting through, better days are ahead.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our live show is a rollercoaster of riffs and emotions punctuated by our cheeky boy humour (Well we think we’re funny!) We’ve only played a handful of shows of late. Due to the pandemic we kind of missed striking when we were ready. It was nice as it gave us time to craft our art but now, we’re ready to get out there and show people what we’re made of!

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
In this band we’ve yet to see anything crazy… but take this as an invitation to come see us live and show us something wild! As far as us doing something wild at a a show unfortunately we can’t yet afford the pyros and stage show of the likes of KISS… We could maybe stretch to some indoor fireworks!
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
I play a Gordon Smith guitar, Marshall head with Peavey cab.
Lance plays a Gibson ES335 guitar, Marshall head and cab.
T-Bone plays a Gibson Les Paul Bass with Marshall head and Laney cab.
Carl D uses Mapex Drums with Groove Cymbals.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
We’re currently plugging our latest single “E.N.E.M.Y” which is available now on all platforms. Check out the cool animated music video on our YouTube channel. It’s a nod to the club where Jeff Healey plays in the classic Patrick Swayze/Sam Elliott film Roadhouse!
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
Our debut self-titled album is dropping 27-01-23 with one more single/video set just before that so keep ‘em peeled.
We’re on the hunt for as many gigs/festivals as we can get onto next year. Album number 2 is 75% written already so we’re looking forward to getting back in the studio with producer extraordinaire Dave Draper to start creating another monster
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
Don’t know about the running order but would love to see a show with likes of, Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids, Acid Claw, Awesome Welles, Rough Guts and can someone ask if The Wildhearts will reform to headline!
