We first of all have to request that if you are a legal representative for Pink Floyd you must stop reading here. Erm… no reason.
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We’re Junodream, we’re from south London (and Nailsea).
How did you meet?
We all met when we were in a geography lesson at school. Shit haircuts, shit jeans, no girlfriends. Not much has changed.
How long have you been playing as a band?
We’ve been playing music together badly since we were 13. We formed Junodream 2 years ago. It’s sounding a bit better now.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
Like all internationally renowned bands we stole it. We’re big fans of Pink Floyd and they have a B-side called “Julia Dream”. Don’t tell their lawyers.
What are your influences?
Aside from the Floyd, we have a mutual love of Radiohead, Air and Zero 7. Our bass player Will has been on about the sea shanties for years. Finger on the pulse that boy.

Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Space rock.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
Micromoments. We like to write about things that don’t get much musical airtime. Getting barged in a nightclub, social humiliation, climate change, invasive advertising. All the totally not depressing stuff.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
I’d say our live shows are pretty weird (and sweaty). We bring a lot of erratic energy when we play live. It’s what we love to do. Our last two shows were in Germany and Holland before the pandemic and they were mental. We’re itching to head back asap.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
When Akon threw that bloke off stage. Tough break.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
I play a Nord Electro 4D keyboard (still coming to terms with all the settings). Dougal (guitarist and songwriter extraordinaire) uses an American Fender Strat, 1970s reissue and Tom (guitarist and songwriter extraordinaire) uses a “Telecaster of some sort”. We love guitars.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
New track “Eden Burns”, a high octane fun run about climate change. We just released a bizarre music video for it too, which is all in reverse. Had to learn the lip sync backwards, which was a testament to my sanity. Sounded like an angry Danish pirate for weeks.

What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
The latest track is part of a bigger release we’ll be rolling out over the next few months. so tons more to come. Also (god willing) there’s a UK tour at the end of April. More merch and potentially some vinyls too. It’s a good time to invest in Junodream.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
I’d have to say LIME (cus they are opening for us on the tour). They’ve got some bangers. Then we also love Drug Store Romeos – another outrageous outfit.
