Our apologies to hard rock / metal stalwarts Nightblade whose article slipped from early this month to today for reasons relating to us being a bit rubbish…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
We are all local guys in and around Kidderminster.
How did you meet?
I’ve known Richard since Stourbridge art college and Tim and Sam train at the same gym as myself.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
Nightblade evolved from many brainstorms just trying to find something that fit our music at the time.
What are your influences?
Influences vary from Sabbath, Maiden, Pearl Jam, Alter Bridge and Shinedown.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
With all of our songs we are always looking for that memorable/ unforgettable feature. We aren’t trying to sound like anyone else and favour at times the simplicity of music. We like to think of ourselves as high in creativity.

Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
A lot of my lyrics are simply about different scenarios or situations and different people I meet. People are all fuel you need for a song!
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our shows are high energy/ intense. We love to give to the crowd value and hope our enthusiasm rubs off onto the fans. It’s so important that the crowd see’s how much you enjoy it too and getting caught in the moment.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
I remember at an Evanescence gig at the NEC a fan leading her companion up onto the terraces with a chain and lead around his neck. He was on all fours at one stage and created quite a stir.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
We are just getting ready for plugging our new single “Stop” following “Steering the Wheel”.

What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
The next six months we will be creating our follow-up album.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
Would love to be on a bill with someone like Pearl Jam or Shinedown.
