For some reason, a band with a name like “11DEAD” seemed appropriate today…
Simple things first – where are you from?
Leicester UK.
How did you the project start?
A desire and need to write and record a song.
How long have you been playing?
Years on and off.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the name come from?
Just brainstorming names I liked the sound of.
What are your influences?
System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, etc. but anything that inspires me to write.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I describe 11DEAD as dark themed hard rock though I think it’s difficult to know what you sound like when you’re right in it. I can honestly say that 11DEAD music comes from me. “Alive” was written in my head before taking it to the guitar and I don’t purposely try to sound like anyone else but it’s practically impossible not to be compared to another artist and that’s fine.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
Not purposely but a handful of tracks have been Evil preys on vulnerable but comes off worse.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
No live shows to date.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
I play Ibanez guitars with Seymour Duncan pickups and D’addario strings. The amps have always been plugins in the studio and at home.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
The latest track, “Alive”.
What are your plans for the next 6 months or so?
I have a track ready for pre production so back in the studio after Christmas.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
I’d love to support Marilyn Manson in keeping with the Dark Theme and the first band to declare being a fan of 11DEAD can open for me.
