Another Italian band today, but with one of the best reasons for choosing their name that we’ve heard in a long time…
We are from Sicily (Italy)
How did you meet?
Vincenzo ( the singer/guitarist) and Carlo ( the drummer) met in 2012. They met through a common friend. Vincenzo and Massimo (the bassist) have been friends for a long time. Vincenzo asked Massimo to replace the first bassist.
How long have you been playing as a band?
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
The name of the band is dedicated to the Vincenzo’s grandmother. She came from Partinico (a small town as province of Palermo) and her name was Rose – she was a great woman! She died at the age of 90 years.
What are your influences?
Killing Joke, Joy Division, Nick Drake, Bauhaus and more.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our sound wants to be the new wave of 2020! We haven’t reinvented anything, but we put into our music mainly honesty and personality.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
The lyrics speaks about the difficulty of life in these last years due the economic crisis but speak also about diseases, loneliness, and social exclusion.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our live shows are funny. We love to interact with the people during the gigs with funny jokes. We have played probably 20 gigs (we know that is not so many… but it’s not so easy to play a gig in Italy).
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
To put in the centre of the stage a crux of wood!
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
The basic: amps , drum, pedalboards
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
We are looking to promote our music all around the world by radio, webzine, digital music platforms and more…
What are your plans for 2020?
Play different festivals in Europe especially in the UK.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
We’d love to supporting The Jesus and Mary Chain!
