I swear if we did a graph of the last month, detailing where we visited for our Act/Band of the Day then Greece would have the bigger column! Here’s another from the land of Theseus, moussaka and Tommy Lee…
Hi there! First of all, thank you very much for this interview! I’m an alternative rock solo artist from Greece.
How long have you been performing?
I have been playing as a one-man band since 2014.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
It is just my name! Panos Stergiou!
What are your influences?
My musical influences include a wide range of genres, from rock to electronic music and from metal to traditional music.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
My music combines alternative rock with some of my favorite music genres such as pop rock, metal or electronic music etc.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
My lyrics focus on introspection and self-awareness, encouraging the listeners to get to know themselves in depth so that they can improve their lives and their societies.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Unfortunately, I haven’t played any live shows because for now I’m a one-man band. I much prefer to work as a studio artist. But I wouldn’t want to exclude the possibility of forming a full band in the future.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
I like stage diving!
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
My favorite Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I also use a lot of music making and production software.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
I’m currently focused on promoting my second album “Know Thyself” and sharing it with people all over the world.
What are your plans for 2020?
My main goal is to continue writing music, making more records, videos etc.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
I would love to be supporting R.E.M. and I would choose Placebo to open for me!!!
