Band of the Day: Nocturne Wulf

Staying local for today’s BotD. It’s Glasgow Fair weekend, so I’m hoping they’re all planning a gig or kicking back on a day off with a beer!

Where are you from?

We are Glasgow based.

How did you meet?

Jamie and Steve played together at music college. The rest of the guys answered the call when we were looking for other members.

How long have you been playing as a band?

As a 5-piece, we’ve been playing since December 2019.

Where does the band name come from?

We liked the idea of a dark werewolf. Wulf is spelled with a ‘U’ from old English to give a gothic feel.

What are your influences?

Metallica, Slayer, Exodus, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Grand Magus, Gloryhammer

Describe your music, what makes you unique?

Our music harks from old school heavy metal with a modern twist.

Do you have any particular lyrical themes?

We take our lyrical inspiration from video games, books, films, and sometimes Genghis Khan.

What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?

Our live show is energetic where anything can happen. We gave up counting after 50.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

We once saw a drummer crowd surfing on a surfboard holding a pint. Our singer, Bob, once drank beer from a skull at one of our shows. There were tits

What kit do you use/guitars do you play?

  • Vocals: Shure Super sm55
  • Guitars: ESP, Schecter
  • Bass: Dingwall
  • Amps: Diezel, Mesa Boogie, Kemper, Darkglass
  • Drums – Mapex Viper, Paiste Cymbals

What are you plugging/promoting at the moment?

We are currently promoting the release of our new single, ‘Necrodancer’; our UK tour, and the release of our album on the 19th July.

What are your plans for 2019?

We have the tour, Wildfire Festival, album, and release another single and music video towards the end of the year.

If you were second on a three band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you?

Evile to open and Exodus as our headliner. What a belter of a show!
