Band of the Day: Centersight

You can today’s BotD are from the States as they can’t spell “centre” correctly #grammarnazi – still, I think we can forgive them this small error based on their music…

Simple things first – where are you guys from?

We’re based in Sacramento, California

How did you meet?

Tim and Matt met back in High School. Cody and Stuart were introduced to them through mutual friends.

How long have you been playing as a band?

Three years.

Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?

Our band name is Centersight. which means seeing things with your third eye.

What are your influences?

Muse, Stevie Wonder, FOALS, Sublime, Paramore, Young The Giant, and many more!

Describe your music. What makes you unique?

The sounds we have are created from scratch. Which would make it really hard to imitate it live.

Do you have any particular lyrical themes?

Things happening in the world, love.

What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?

We’re really fun and energetic live. We work really hard on our sound as well so we put on the best show. We don’t have an exact number of shows.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?

Nothing beats Tommy Lee playing his drums upside down

What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?

SJC Tour Series, Gibson firebird, Fender Twin reverb amp, Keylab 88 Arturia, Shure mic, sennheiser mic, Behringer x32 board, we all use IEMS, Run tracks off Ableton.

What are your plans for 2019?

Release many singles and play more shows!

If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!

We would love to tour with Pointdexter. We also wouldn’t mind playing with National Lines. It doesn’t matter the order.
