Busy, busy, busy so no time to write a witty intro. Instead I’ll let Delfina speak for themselves…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Kiev, Ukraine.
How did you meet?
It was not simple way of different circumstances.
How long have you been playing as a band?
From 2014.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
Delfinia it is some kind of “Land of Dolphins”. We think there is so much positivity in this name. And we like power metal because it brings positivity into our lives.
What are your influences?
Masterplan, Stratovarius, Nightwish, Avantasia and other top bands of this genre.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Our music is just what we like and what we want to hear now from this genre. If you want something – just make it by yourself! Our uniqueness is in the way we are trying to make the old power metal to sound modern and fresh.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
All of our themes are.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
We played only one show in the entire career because our band is mostly a studio project. We have almost 20 guest musicians from different countries and now it’s not realistic to gather them all in one place at the same time.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
To hire a schoolgirl as bass player and to teach her to play our songs in 2 months.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Roland Juno-DI keyboards, tuned Epiphone Goth guitar, Yamaha RBX375 bass.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
Now we are promoting our debut album, which was released in January 2019. And we advise everyone to check this work because it’s really unusual.
What are your plans for 2019?
We are planning to work on the new songs and to release some singles.
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
We will choose the band NOVI because it’s a really talented and underrated band, which deserves to be heard!
