A perfect band for you for the end of a week, given that they sing about the end of the world…
Simple things first – where are you guys from?
Sussex, UK
How did you meet?
Mainly from knowing each other from the local metal / gigging scene with other bands.
How long have you been playing as a band?
Four Years.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
It means “Born of the Earth”. Mainly fitting in with the post-apocalyptic theme.
What are your influences?
Lamb of God, Inflames, Parkway Drive, Pantera, Thy Art is Murder, Iron Maiden, Machine Head.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
Melodic death metal meets post-apocalyptic war. Soundtrack to destruction.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
Post-apocalypse, war, fighting for survival.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Fast paced with theatrical use of samples and lighting. We try to ensure every gig we do has a “show”, almost cinematic factor. Think explosions, gunfire and air raid sirens.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
A Seagull stealing, and swallowing whole our bass players battered sausage outside of Sticky Mikes in Brighton!
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Jackson / Ibanez guitars, Spector bass, Tama / Mapex drums, Shure wireless microphones, Bugera / Mark Bass amplification, and an array of effects / sampling stomp boxes.
What, if anything, are you plugging/promoting at the moment?
Our latest video release, the title track from our debut EP Call to War.
What are your plans for 2019?
Promoting our video release and continuing the writing process for our album which we hope to get into the studio to record later this year – with a few live shows thrown in to keep us on our toes of course!
If you were second on a three-band bill, which band would you love to be supporting and which band would you choose to open for you? A chance to plug someone you’ve toured with, or a mate’s band we’ve not heard of before!
Kinzoku opening (local band we recently played with for M2M Brighton, very impressed with them), Lamb of God headliner.
From previous Band of the Day Muscular Child: Dave Grohl, Mick Jagger, Prince – Who would you kiss, who would you marry and who would you kill?
Kill Jagger, Marry Grohl, Kiss Prince!
From another BotD, Vanity: If you could go back in time and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Less is more – especially when it comes to GAIN on guitars!
And from Charly&Faust: What’s your underwear colour?
Navy Blue, Grey, Snow White and the seven Dwarves! Purple, Black.
