Simple things first – where are you guys from?
South Florida, USA.
How did you meet?
We met through other local bands. I tricked Ben and Vic into the band. And have ruined their lives with this band ever since. I’m a jerk.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
Nearly six years. Since weed was grass.
Before you get sick of being asked… where does the band name come from?
Latin garbage that I asked a friend if I could use. She said yeah.
What are your influences – individually or as a band?
Musically we are influenced by a thousand different things. Myself I am influenced by the basics I feel. Botch , Poison the Well, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Glassjaw, At The Drive-In, Coalesce… and some weird ones. Cranberries, Cursive, Interpol and They Might Be Giants to name a few.
Describe your music. What makes you unique?
I feel that’s not up to us. We will always see it differently than the listener.
Do you have any particular lyrical themes?
98% political. With things as awful as they are we don’t feel compelled to talk about ourselves often in our music. We hope to inspire people to be compassionate.
What’s your live show like? How many shows have you played?
Our live show has been described as very intense and chaotic. Though we have not caused anyone serious injury. Which is good. We’ve played hundreds and hundreds of shows.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen or done at a live show?
Front kicking guitars into our gear and a dude smashing a beer on his own face and bleeding all over our drums.
What kit do you use / guitars do you play / etc.?
Guitars: Ibanez Jet King, Fender Jag hh, Ltd Vincent Price, home build Bernie Strat.
Bass: Fender P bass, Squier classic vibe 50s p bass.
We got some beaters in there haha.
What are your plans for 2016?
Tour and put out an EP.
If you could be part of any 3-band line-up (as support or headlining) who else would you have on the bill?
The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Glassjaw, with us opening.
