Matchstickmen are a relatively young band hailing from the land of yellow submarines, shellsuits and famous footballing heavyweights such as Bootle FC. Their first album, Through Hell…And Kept Going, garnered good reviews and in the time since it was released they’ve kept themselves in the public ear with a series of singles.
It’s time for another album release, though, and they’re in the run-up to the big drop of number two (hehe – dropping a number two… sorry), From Our Own Ashes in September this year. “Numb” is the most recent and fifth single that the band have released from this upcoming LP and you can stream it already. It’s a heavy bit of bass-led rock with a mixture of classic and modern tones and it’s well worth a listen. The band themselves say that From Our Own Ashes is “slightly heavier than anything we’ve previously released” which can’t be a bad thing!
