It’s always nice to have a change of pace and check out something new. To whit today’s BotD, Leland Sundries with a sound that – to me – harks back to a stripped down early Rolling Stones. So very much rock, not metal for this overcast (in Glasgow) Thursday.
Music For Outcasts is the band’s debut full-length release and their first release at all outside of the US. It’s due out in February 2016 and one song, “Radiator Sabotage” is embedded below.
A lot of what caught my eye about this band focuses on frontman Nick Loss-Eaton. Half of the album was written while he recovered from alcoholism, half was after he was “clean”… and preparing for open heart surgery. All at the age of only 33.
The sound of the band is very lo-fi and old fashioned, recorded in analogue in the band’s native stomping ground of New York. Check out the song below for an example and the following links for more about them.
