Band of the Day: Ataraxis Vibration

Ataraxis Vibration logoI’ve done a fair few classic metal bands in the past, but not that many classic rock acts. Let’s redress that today with Ataraxis Vibration.

Hailing from the rock mecca that is… erm… Bath, they’re a three-piece citing influences such as Hendrix, Free and Cream and labelling themselves as psychedelic rock/blues.

Fronted by vocalist and bassist Uvonji Uzele, guitars are twanged by Adam Healey and skins thumped by Martin Donovan. Together they produce something that’s now quite what you’d have heard back in the late 60’s, but definitely a modern take on it.

Their self-titled 3-track EP has been around for a little while now, but recording has already begun on a full album to be released in 2015.

The only material I can find online to pop down below is a third-party live video from a recent gig. However, the sound is really good so I’m fine with using it to let you know what they’re like.

Ah, this might be their recent return to PATRIOTS bar in Crumlin, Gwent, Wales.. I believe there was a mini “fest”-like day, with several bands rotating through..

Adam’s from Wales, Martin from Bristol, Uvonji from Bath (well, the Caribbean).
Good stuff; lyrics, something to listen and pay attention to..
