Band of the Day: Kissing Candice

Kissing Candice - ConjuredMike, the bassist with Kissing Candice, dropped me a line recently and asked me to check out the band. They’re former tour mates of Chomp Chomp Attack (now known as Silentts) who I covered in December 2013.

They class themselves as “electronica / metal”, but not in the style you may first think. The underlying music is pretty heavy, and samples are used to enhance the sound rather than being an overwhelming part. That is, metal first with electronica in support rather than vice versa. At least, from the tracks I listened to!

Their first EP was released in 2012 and recorded by a single member, group founder Joey. Its success encouraged him to put a band together to write, record and play more music live. Very shortly after settling on a number of recruits, the band were offered the opening slot on both days of Slipknot’sKnotfest“. Given that their live show involves lights, smoke and blood they do seem like a perfect fit.

More touring followed and then a second EP was worked on, and released in December 2013. They gave Conjured a push by opening for Bam Margera towards the end of last year.

Their plans for the future? More. And more!
