Canada seems to have a thriving metal scene going by the number of bands from that country which have featured here so far. Mind you, it’s the second largest country in the world by area so perhaps that has something to do with it. Or maybe all the headbanging helps offset the low temperatures.
Anyway, add to that list Endemise from Ottawa. They’re a melodic black/death metal combo who’ve been on the go since late 2005. Formed by the brothers Sauve (Dale and Dave), they released their debut album in 2009 and an EP in 2010.
More recently, their second album came out in November 2013. Far From The Light is ten tracks of unrelenting death heaviness, tempered with a melodic undertone. Fast and brutal with vocals that could be being growled by a pissed off jaguar, the overall sound is actually surprisingly orchestral and… well, big.
Definitely one worth checking out for fans of the blisteringly fast and heavy.
