Some may say I’m featuring this band because I work with one of the band members. I’m featuring them because I found out about them because one of the band members is a work colleague. Everything else is on their own merit!
Miss The Occupier remind me of old-school pop/punk, not the more recent sounds like Blink-182 and Green Day, but harking back to the 70’s and 80’s. Blondie, Siouxsie and the Banshees… these are the acts that seem to have found a modern-day home within the instruments and songwriting of Miss The Occupier.
Vocalist Roz Davies doubles up as bassist while guitars and drums are handled by Magnus Hughson and Ione Campsie. They’re Glasgow based and have had some very favourable press from this region and beyond. Expect to see them pop up with the occasional live show, though the only forthcoming one I’m aware of at the time of writing is on Feb 7th 2014 at The Old Hairdresser’s in Glasgow.
They have a fair amount of material out there for listening to, downloading and purchasing. Check out their links below for all of this stuff and enjoy their most recent video. The current album, Keep Company With Wolves, can be picked up from Google Play, iTunes and so forth – or on good old-fashioned CD at Love Music in Glasgow.
