New Band of the Day: Line of Fire

Line of Fire – Nowhere To Go

Line of Fire’s guitarist used to play with some shower of shite in the 90’s called Lawnmower Deth. Despite this obvious handicap they manage to cover for his inadequacies and churn out some pretty decent, slow and heavy numbers.

They’ve got a 4-track EP out which I picked up when I ordered an LD t-shirt (OK, so I fucking love Lawnmower Deth!). They’re also on the Headbangers Balls tour and compilation album if you’ve got that for pre-booking via PledgeMusic. Their EP’s called Nowhere To Go and the four tracks show a lot of variety.

They’re also good value for money with two tracks over five minutes and two over seven. Quality stuff, as I mentioned and the least you’d expect from the recent Metal To The Masses (East Midlands) winners who will be playing Bloodstock in early August on the back of it.

As I said, slow and heavy. Imagine Sabbath with Lemmy on vocals. Except for the fourth track, “Wrong Side of the Track” which has a cracking country vibe and is – in my opinion – the best song on there. It’s also the one they chose for the aforementioned HBB platter, and I think it was a good choice.

Their facefart page is as good a place as any to start if you’re looking for information. They seem to play a lot around the East Mids area, so you shouldn’t find it too hard to catch them live. I’ll be seeing them on December 20th opening for… erm… Lawnmower Deth!
