I love a band that’s in it for the laughs, but still manage to make good music. There are plenty out there – Acid Reign, Lawnmower Deth, Sliced Pimples, A.C…. Add to those hallowed ranks the bunch of nutters that are In Defence.
Lowering the average IQ of Minneapolis, their track titles pretty much sum up each song. “Lessons in Headbanging”, “The Only Good Thing About Pizza Is The Crust”, “Veronica Mars, Bringer Of War”, and on it goes. Their videos are equally as fun as you can see below with the one that brought them to my attention.
“Don’t Call Me Moshist” is a cry to the masses to “fuck this shit, let’s circle pit”. They even recorded one song live in a taco shop. They like tacos, apparently.
They describe themselves as a mixture of hardcore punk and thrash metal. The two genres do have a lot of similarities and In Defence manage to tick a lot of boxes for each.
