Exclusive track by track: Dwelled – ‘Suffering Heritage’

We exclusively caught up with northern heavyweights Dwelled and asked the rising UK metallers to give us a track by track breakdown of the forthcoming new EP, Suffering Heritage, arriving on Friday 6th December.

Track 1: Spineless

Spineless sets the tone of the EP. An unapologetic and ruthless barrage using the concept of a “less is more” ethos. Lyrically it discusses bitter long term social interactions and unwillingness to “dwell” on damaging behaviours.

Track 2: Ripped Apart

A violent song with huge riffs that talks about the inability to escape the negative aspects of life and daily struggles. Erratic changes in tempo, feelings of dread and facing our imminent doomsday.

Track 3: Echoes

Written to showcase the heaviest aspects of Dwelled and the concept of intensity falling into incoherent chaos. Delusion and the human race being destined to destroy themselves.

Track 4: Otherside

Featuring a cacophony of sinister sounds inspired by the horror film ‘Black Phone. This song tells a story through the eyes of an omnipotent being that wants to consume all life, reaching out from the ‘otherside’. The duality of the two realities.

Track 5: Suffer

Orchestrated with the intention of making a crowd move, “Suffer” is a relentless riff-heavy track from start to finish. Exploring the subject of the need to be free from harmful individuals, unable to escape and ending with a choice of retribution or death.

Track 6: Rivers of Regret

The EP reaches its devastating conclusion with outro track “Rivers of Regret”. A cathartic crescendo that ends with carnage and the notion of losing control.”
