Nepthisis is filled with emotion with the release of the album Spiral Hollow. The creation of this album took place during the pandemic, a time of great darkness and illuminating pain.
The album isn’t nice, light listening, or easy on the ears. It’s heavy and storytelling. Wailing guitars, throaty primal-evoking vocals mixed with haunting operatic vocals, deep gritty sounds, and electronic detours – all take the listener on a journey. The leading lady Sheila Eden says:
The thing is I’ve never wanted to make ‘normal’ things but grew up listening to heavy rock and dark ambient musicians who sung heart-piercing lyrics. I felt heard and seen for my own pain.. those musicians got me and I wasn’t alone. Now, it’s time for me to offer the same to my listeners. It is time for all of us to express our truest selves in this world, no matter what that may be.
