Kill the Lights is a recently-formed group partly consisting of former members from Bullet For My Valentine and Throw the Fight. They’ve signed to Fearless Records and have a debut album in the pipeline. In the meantime, they’ve released this cracking version of Testament’s classic “Into The Pit” (from 1998’s The New Order).
The original hasn’t aged, and Kill The Lights haven’t done much to mess with a winning formula. This is a blistering rendition of a seminal thrash number and it bodes well for what the newer band could be bringing our way in future months.
Drummer Moose Thomas has this to tell us:
There were a ton of cover songs options we could have gone with, and we did consider covering a pop song in our style, but we decided to cover ‘Into the Pit’ by the mighty Testament purely because it’s a classic song that’s fun to play. We wanted to stay true to the original as closely as possible, to pay our respects to metal royalty. A great song by an amazing band.
