It’s hard to believe that ten years ago it was 2009 – doesn’t time fly by quick! This same year delivered us some brutally great films too;

Inglorious Basterds: Directed by Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino, based on the first year of Germany’s occupation of France. Allied officer Lt. Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) assembles a team of Jewish soldiers to commit violent acts of retribution against the Nazis, including the taking of their scalps.

Avatar: Directed by James Cameron, this futuristic sci-fi thriller amassed $2.788 billion dollars at the box office, was nominated for 128 awards and won 89 of those.

Watchmen: Directed by Zack Snyder, this movie is set in an alternative America in 1985 where superheroes are part and parcel of everyday life. Conspiracy theories, plots to kill and assassinations ensue.

Sherlock Holmes: No, not the game found at online casinos, the movie featuring Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. When a string of brutal murders terrorises London, it doesn’t take long for legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his trustee sidekick; Dr Watson appear. It’s a simple film; find the killers and bring them to justice!
