Best albums:

  • Iron Maiden – The Book Of Souls
  • Slayer – Repentless
  • Courtney Barnett – Sometime I sit and think, Sometimes I just sit
  • Soldiers of Fortune – Early Risers
  • Disturbed – Immortalized
  • Kleine Schweine – In Your Own Backyard

Best live shows:

  • AC/DC – Wembley Stadium (Band just get better and better. Was pleasantly surprised by the new Wembley)
  • Thunder – Leeds Arena
  • Chameleons – Hebden Bridge Trades Club (Packed, sweaty, crowd really up for it. Classic Set.)
  • New Model Army – York Fibbers

Best venue:

Hebden Bridge Trades Club is a socialist club that has more recently started to put on some really good bands. Its run by volunteers, is well priced and has great sound for a small venue. Amongst the bands to have passed through this small venue in recent times includes Patti Smith, Thurston Moore, Hookworms and The Wytches.

Best news:

Lawnmower Death on Radio 2 and subsequent Number for Christmas Campaign

That Bruce Dickinson had recovered well enough to record and release ‘The Book of Souls’

Worst news:

Paris Shootings

Things to look forward to in 2016:

Finally getting to see Iron Maiden. I have been a fan since I was 12 and it has never happened for some reason but tickets already purchased for Download
