In terms of albums I’m looking forward to, there’s a new Dying Fetus album, which will be a cracker. I’ve always enjoyed their music and hopefully the new album should live up to or even better Reign Supreme.

There’s also the small matter of a new Enslaved record. Continuing on with their more progressive style of melodic death, these guys keep on delivering amazing albums. Here’s hoping the new one is even better than the last!

Another one that’s on the list is the new Ensiferum record. With it being their first album on Metal Blade it should be more accessible. I was still able to get their last one in deluxe edition, but it wasn’t easy to find after Amazon decided to sell out.

What might be my album of 2015, is the re-release and potential new album from Wolfheart. For those unaware of Wolfheart, it’s basically Tuomas Saukkonen’s new melodic death project after he dissolved Before the Dawn and Black Sun Aeon. Having been recently signed to Spinefarm Records, you should be seeing more of their albums soon.

Dependent on whether they are finished in time, here’s a list of other artists working on new albums I’m looking forward to.

  • Between the Buried and Me
  • Heidevolk (I know this one’s coming around spring time)
  • Kreator
  • Soilwork
  • Slayer
  • Metallica
  • Shining (NOR)
  • Brutai
  • Destruction
  • Testament
  • Solution .45

I’ve only a few gigs confirmed for next year, these are listed below.

  • Amon Amarth/Huntress
  • Shrapnel
  • Devin Townsend/Periphery/Shining
  • Skeletonwitch/Goatwhore

My wishlist for gig would probably be as follows:

  • Insomnium – Come back with Wolfheart on a headlining tour?
  • Ensiferum
  • Enslaved – Be awesome to see these guys play, I’ve watched videos of them and they sound awesome
  • Wolfheart – Come with Insomnium. You’d certainly get folk coming down.
  • Misery Index – Maybe do a tour with Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus?
