GIK Acoustics - Europe
The Moshville Times

Chris Morton

I’ve been writing as a hobby for years from stories through to things you could almost call journalism. In 2014 I was nominated for an award for an interview piece at the SSJA and haven’t shut up about it since (seriously, it’s one of the first lines in my CV).

From: Gourock, Scotland

Preferred Genres: Power metal, folk metal, prog (metal and rock), trad metal, and I’ve recently discovered synthwave so we’ll have that as a non-metal thing.

Favourite bands: Iron Maiden, Opeth, Alestorm, Manowar, Andrew W.K.

Favourite albums: Iron Maiden – A Matter of Life and Death, Andrew W.K. – I Get Wet, Metallica – Ride the Lightning, Black Sabbath – Heaven & Hell, Opeth – Ghost Reveries

Favourite venues: Audio, Ivory Blacks and the Barrowlands. Bloodstock as well if you can count it as a venue.

Most embarrassing album owned: Technically The Cartoons’ Toonage, but I still love it so feel no shame.

First gig: Rolling Stones, promptly followed by Boyzone.

Favourite gigs: Avantasia – Bloodstock 2013, Opeth – Theatre Royal Drury Lane 2015 or Andrew W.K – Glasgow, 2012

Favourite drink: I’m partial to an occasional Morgan’s Spiced and Coke.

Favourite food: Chicken pasanda with a side of vegetable pakora, peshwari naan and a “couple” of chapatis.
