Saw this one being kicked about on the Team Rock page earlier. The three ladies who make up The Lounge Kittens take well-known songs, decide on a style that would really twist it around a bit and then really make it work.
Their previous effort which got them a lot of coverage was Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin'”, which they did as a more up-tempo Charlston-esque number. For Aerosmith’s classic ballad, they’ve opted for more of a polka beat and… again.. it works. It could have been written like this and then ripped off by Tyler and the gang for all anyone else would know.
The ladies will be playing Glastonbury (meh) and Sonisphere (yay) this year, so if you’re going to the latter then I can see them being a great act to catch. If you’re off to the former, I hope it’s just to tell Metallica how shite St Anger was.
