Band of the Day: Crown of Cerebellum

Crown of Cerebellum logoA few days ago, the Snooty Fox in Wakefield organised a charity gig to raise funds for victims of the Paris attacks and their families. Eight bands were on the bill. Four didn’t show up.

We’re not interested in that last bunch, but feel that those who did turn up deserved a bit of credit. Here’s the third from that list – Crown of Cerebellum.

First off, major props to the for making the trip over from Leeds despite their guitarist wearing some kind of back brace. If they could make the journey and put on a show then what excuse do the absentees have? Anyway…

Crown of Cerebellum are a four-piece, female-fronted progressive alt metal band (phew). The best place to check out a sample of their wares is their Soundcloud and it would definitely be worth your while to do so. A mixture of Lisa Sforza’s vocals and some growling from one of the guys in the band mix well and the overall tone of their music swings nicely from light to dark and back again. Alternately heavy and melodic, they have something good going on.

The next chance you’ll get to catch them live is at The Fenton in Leeds on February 6th, where they’ll be the headline act.
