Tuesday Video Roundup: Idlewar, Devilment, Pulled Apart By Horses, Devilskin

It’s Tuesday. After the haze of Monday, the realisation sets in that you’re not even halfway through the week yet. To help alleviate the suckage, wrap your eyes and ears around the following…

Idlewar – “Glory”

Californian rock trio Idlewarhave unveiled the video for “Glory”, the latest track to be released from their extremely well received debut album, Impulse. There’s just over a week to go before the Californians make their live debut in the United Kingdom, and this new music video finds Idlewar at rehearsal, jamming songs in preparation for a UK tour with Stone Broken, and their slot at this year’s sold out Rockstock festival on the 3rd of December.

Devilment – “Full Dark, No Stars”

Witch County nefarious frights Devilment – led by vehement frontman Dani Filth, will release their forthcoming masterpiece Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes this coming Friday (18th November) via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The band have just released a new animated lyric video for third single, “Full Dark, No Stars” (animation by Sophie Bedborough and editing by Sam Scott-Hunter). Dani recounts:

The title for this song is taken from a Stephen King horror anthology, much as the title of our first album was lifted from a book by Clive Barker (The Great And Secret Show) though there is no correlation between the book and the song, other than it represents a bleak period; a state of wanton depression; an absence of being. It is, much like many songs on this album, about regaining the light, the overcoming of demons, and of triumphing over the immense shadow of fear itself.

Pulled Apart By Horses – “The Big What If”

Having just delivered the first sonic attack since their 2014 album, Blood, with new single “The Big What If”, Leeds’s Pulled Apart By Horses reveal a surreal new music video to match. Drummer Tommy Davidson reveals:

For this video we buddied up with close acquaintances and immersed ourselves in the beautifully absurd world of Lord Whitney.Pushing ourselves to new physical and mental limits, we took part in an experiment to battle the effects of sleep deprivation. We went to desperate measures to remain conscious, things got weird and we found ourselves trapped somewhere between the stark reality of a bare hospital ward and a harsh, surreal dystopian landscape.

You can catch the lads opening for Twin Atlantic for three dates in Glasgow this December, and on tour through March and April 2017.

Devilskin – “Pray”

Popular New Zealand based hard rock band Devilskin has released the official music video for the second single off of their second studio album, Pray. The band issued the following comments:

We are beyond excited to be releasing our new studio album Be Like The River on November 11th. The title comes from a lyric of ours ‘Be like the river and cut through the stone’, the message is about reaching your goals through perseverance and unwavering determination. It has been an incredible journey so far for Devilskin and we feel this album really encapsulates and represents our evolution as a band, as songwriters and as people.
