Sunday Video Roundup: Desert, Katatonia, You Me At Six, Wishing Well

Back out strolling through the hills again with Duke of Edinburgh today, so here’s hoping the auto-post works…

Desert – “Son Of A Star”

Israeli Power Metallers Desert release their new and epic video “Son Of A Star”. This video is the second clip released as a support for the Never Regret album which was released last year.

The video shooting process took place at the Ha-Makhtesh Ha-Katan location, a geological erosional landform of Israel’s Negev desert, during 43C heat. The storyline of the video and the song itself are based on the Shimon Bar Kochva’s rebellion against Roman Empire in 132-135 CE at the ancient Judea area and describes it’s tragic fall in the striving for freedom of the Jewish state.

The fighters of historical fencing club “The Knights Of Jerusalem” took an active part in this video shooting process. All the costumes used in the video were produced and based on their historical predecessors. Part of the funds for a video shooting were raised during the band’s Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.

Katatonia – “Shifts”

Katatonia is set to hit the road shortly in support of its tenth studio effort, The Fall of Hearts – A beautiful behemoth of desolate and dark forces, Katatonia’s latest offering was self-produced by its own Anders Nyström and Jonas Renkse.

Sweden’s reigning progressive rock/metal king have just revealed their beautifully emotive music video to “Shifts”, directed by Lasse Hoile, taken from the album.

You Me At Six – “Night People”

You Me At Six have unveiled the video for their new single “Night People”, the title track from their forthcoming album due January 13th 2017 through Infectious Music.

Night People, their fifth album, was recorded in Nashville at Black Bird Studios with Grammy award-winning producer Jacquire King (Kings Of Leon, James Bay) and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chilli Peppers).

Wishing Well – “Luck Is Blind”

Finnish hard rockers Wishing Well have released a video for the song “Luck Is Blind” from their critically acclaimed Chasing Rainbows album, which was released in February 2016 by Inverse Records.

“We are still promoting the album and we thought that this time it would be good to come out with a little softer song. ‘Luck’ is a melodic and catchy tune with serious lyrics about injustice and inequality of the world. The song also features some cool keyboards by Juha “The Undertaker” Huhta and that gives the song some extra character. We’re even considering of using Hammond organ all the way on our next album”, says Anssi Korkiakoski, guitar player and songwriter of Wishing Well.
