100-Word Review: The Roadkill – Reborn

The RoadkillBand of the Day back in April, I’ve finally got two minutes to dash off a quick review of their latest album! It’s been out since the end of last year, so getting hold of a copy should be easy enough via the links at the end.

There’s a definite classic metal vibe to The Roadkill’s sound, but also a punky edge. One or two tracks make me think of fellow Norwegians Turbonegro.

They’re definitely not stuck in any kind of genre rut, though, with plenty of variety over the seven tracks (plus one radio version). The dirtier numbers are definitely the more entertaining (“Choke” and “OMG” in particular) and this seems to be what they’ve focussed on for image and video releases.

I can see this stuff going down well live, if the band can bring those personae to life on stage. Pretty decent Norwegian metal!
