100-word review: Vredehammer – Vinteroffer

Vredehammer - VinterofferVinteroffer is the debut album from Vredehammer and available as of now!

Black metal from its spiritual home of Norway. But don’t expect it to make you miserable enough to gut a bandmate or burn down a church. Vinteroffer is a surprisingly bouncy slice of darkness. The title track, for instance, has a very upbeat main riff akin to something you’d expect to hear at a medieval dance.

Of course, you then hit a track like “Summoned” which powers over you like a very pissed off steamroller. “We Are The Sacrifice” owes more than a small nod of the head in the direction of Pantera, IMHO, and is superb because of it.

Track listing:

  1. The Awakening
  2. Cthulhu
  3. Seduce Infect Destroy
  4. Suicide Forest
  5. We Are The Sacrifice
  6. Sykdom
  7. Summoned
  8. Vinteroffer
  9. Admissa
