This morning, Tons Of Rock Festival announced the final twelve bands to complete their line-up for this year’s festival, and it is looking fantastic!
The festival focuses on everything from classic rock to the famous Norwegian black metal scene, and previous years have featured performances from Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Ghost, Europe, Amon Amarth, SIXX:AM, Behemoth, Gojira, In Flames and Thin Lizzy.
This year the festival will feature three stages; the main Fort West stage located on the old drill ground, a Tent Stage and Huth Stage, located almost at the very top of the fortress, overlooking Halden.
Headlining this year will be Blink-182, Slayer and Five Finger Death Punch, plus there will also be a very special worldwide exclusive performance by Sabaton playing their album Carolus Rex in its entirety, which is rather fitting as the album was written about a battle that took place at the very same fortress in which the festival is set.
Another exciting addition to this year’s festival will be an exhibition by photographer Peter Beste entitled “Heavy Metal Is The Law” which will feature a selection of images from his 15-year career.
Personally I am really looking forward to seeing Slayer, Rob Zombie, Airbourne and Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, although every year I end up discovering some brilliant Scandinavian rock / metal bands, so bring it on!
